All EOI registrations will be reviewed, and a selected number of students for both girls and boys will be invited to attend a trial for the NSWCCC 15 years and under Cricket Selections.

The Laws of Cricket will apply.

No fieldsman is allowed to field within ten (10) metres of the batsman on strike except those fielding within an area from point to wicketkeeper on the off side of the wicket.

No player may enter this restricted zone until after the ball:

              is hit by the batter, or

              strikes the body or equipment of the batter, or

              passes through to the wicketkeeper.

 

Rubber-soled cricket boots or sports shoes must be worn for hard wickets. Spiked cricket boots may be worn where turf wickets are used.

Students must provide their own safety and playing equipment such as helmet, genital protector, batting pads and batting gloves. Thigh guards and shin guards are optional.

Student’s equipment including footwear and other protective items must comply with age or standard levels appropriate to the laws of the game.

Sunglasses conforming to the Australian Standard AS1067, with plastic frames and perspex lenses may be worn to protect eyes from UV radiation.

Students must report upon arrival to the Convenor to have their name marked off.

Students will bowl a maximum of:

              10 overs (50 over match)

              6 overs (30 over match)

              4 overs (T20 match).

 

Students will bat for an appropriate length of time and retire if necessary to allow for other students an opportunity to bat. This is dependant on the individual match.

The format for the day will be at the discretion of the Convenor and Officials.

Please note: The teams that have a BYE in the first round, will proceed directly to the afternoon second-round fixture.

The sports coordinators will need to organise this themselves and appoint a convenor for the day – the cost of the event can then be shared between the participating schools.

TEAM ELIGIBILITY

  • Girls must be current students enrolled at the school in which they are competing.
  • Players may only play in one team throughout the competition.
  • Any girl from years 7 to 10 is eligible, however:
    • Players that have previously been selected in an NSWCCC Girls Cricket team are not eligible to play.
    • Players that have attended NSWCCC cricket trials who have not been selected for the NSWCCC team are eligible to play but must not bat higher than 5 and must not bowl until 5 overs have been completed.

TEAM SIZE

  • Each school may have a squad of up to 12 players.
  • There may be only 9 players permitted to be selected to participate in any one game.
